I believe this sets a dangerous precedent that could have serious repercussions for the future of updates. Then it progressed into how things are now – we rarely see a game released that isn’t supported by a ton of DLC. ‘Hey, why not purchase this Premium update – with cross-game chat! ‘We know these features might have been offered for free in the past, but this is Premium so offers far more value! And this is without even mentioning that many of the new features being added to Play TV are already available on other, dedicated digital TV systems out of the box.

There are some good instructions on how to do this in the online manual.

Right now, I’m working with the guys from Sony Ericsson to support their new mobile phone, the Aino, which will allow the same remote play functionality that you can get with the PSP.

Hi Guys, just wanted to give anyone who has Play TV a heads up that on the 30th Sept you will need to re-scan your channels to make sure you can still receive all the digital channels through your Play TV box.

The Play TV is wall/desk mountable, but seeing as how the unit needs to plug into the front of the Play Station via USB anyway it lacks the discretion of other AV components. The Play TV is a dual-tuner PVR addition to the Play Station 3.With dual tuners you can record one show while watching another or while playing a game or a Blu-ray.If you can get digital reception in your area then the Play TV will work fine. The device comes with a seven-day EPG but like other devices it takes a bit of coaxing to get it to update all the channels — ie, you'll need to go to each of the main channels in turn to update the first grid.

I am lucky enough to have one of these for testing and it’s a very nice phone.
